Carol is my loving mother. She was a Sickle Cell warrior but passed away 5/31/2005 from complications of Sickle Cell Disease. My whole life I watched her battle with this disease. She was in and out of the hospital, always in pain, and always tired.  She really suffered physically and took a toll on her mentally.  However she never gave up on her faith that she will be healed and now she is.  I "promised" her that one day I would help find a cure for SCD. Unfortunately it wasn’t in her lifetime but she is the reason why I advocate for people just like her…those hoping, wishing, & praying for a cure. This foundation is my PROMISE to my mother.
